The WPI Plan is adopted. The Plan uproots a rigid approach to course work with project-based learning across the curriculum. Self-directed learning, faculty input, changes in grading and term structures, and independent studies are just a few of the radical changes introduced. Virtually overnight, WPI becomes one of the most innovative technological universities in the world.
